Leaving the Gravellona Toce motorway at Borgomanero and continuing on to Gozzano, San Giulio Island is within easy reach of Orta San Giulio by either boat or motorboat. Sacro Monte, on the other hand, can be reached immediately after the built-up area.
Continue in the direction of Domodossola by car on highway 229, which skirts the lake, and then take highway 33 in Ossola Valley.
To reach Verbania on Lake Maggiore, take the opposite direction on highway 33 and turn onto highway 24. You can reach Santuario della SS. Trinità di Ghiffa by following the lake towards Switzerland for a short while. Otherwise, visitors can reach the pier where boats depart for Isola Bella by turning back at Verbania and going to Stresa.
