From Albano along the banks of the Sesia River - about 16 km
After leaving the car at Albano, take the gravel road that leads towards the river. Having reached a crossroads, turn right and on up to the Ronchi car park. From this point, thestreet follows the river until reaching the Cervo Stream junction. On the last leg of the tour, it is possible to see the Isle of Oldenico in the centre of the river that hosts one of the largest heron colonies in Italy. Turn back towards Albano and at the crossroads continue on towards Greggio, where there are some paths that lead to some observation huts located in the wood. From here it is possible to observe the river wildlife. Return to Albano from Greggio along the main road.
From Buronzo to Balocco in the plain north of Vercelli - about 25 km
After leaving the car at Buronzo, a small fortified town, go north in a slight uphill climb until Rovasenda. Turn down towards S. Giacomo Vercellese and continue straight on a small road that follows the bank of the Rovasenda Stream. After the town of S. Marco the road leads to Villarboit. At the crossroads, turn right in the direction of Balocco. Here, the road is surrounded by rice fields. For the return journey, Balocco is only a short distance from Buronzo.
