ATL - Alessandria

This is an area which stretches from the plain to the Apennines, where the visitor can experience some real emotions. Here castles tell stories and legends of long ago; there are natural beauties such as the Capanne di Marcarolo park; the culinary specialities range from mushrooms to truffles accompanied by some excellent wines; there are many golf courses and museums, including the Regional Cycling Museum which celebrates the achievements of local boys Fausto Coppi and Costante Girardengo. Then, the Alessandria area also includes an important spa and modern wellness centre, Acqui Terme, already well-known in Roman times for the therapeutic powers of the waters which surface at a temperature of 75°.
