“The Garden of Turin” is how the area of the Lanzo Valleys and the Canavese are often described and this is, in fact, an enchanting corner of Piedmont. Here the visitor will find historical, artistic and natural beauties at all altitudes. Starting at the 200 metres of the plain of the Po and Dora Baltea rivers, the tourist will quickly climb to the Morainic amphitheatre of Ivrea to reach the 4,000 metres of the peaks of the Gran Paradiso. And everywhere is steeped in history, as shown by the many castles and Mediaeval villages, and the flavour of local traditions, food and wine.
