Baldissero d'Alba - Piemonte Feel

Cities

Baldissero d'Alba (CN)

The town rises on one of the passageways through the “rocks”, an area of erosion that marks the hills to the left of the Tanaro River like a deep wound from Bra to Cisterna d’Asti. In popular stories, the rocks were the favorite hideout for bandits and “masche” (the witches from legends of the province of Cuneo), and hermits. Bandissero, which is in the area of Roero, has held on to part of this fairytale allure, both because of the castle that overlooks the town, as well as the ancient woods known as “Silva popularis” at the edge of town and which extend over one fourth of the town’s territory. The hills give a prized wine production as well as famous strawberries.
