Water is the element that dominates this small town located at the border between the provinces of Alessandria and Vercelli, as the farming here is prevalently rice farming and, therefore, the area’s main economic resources come from the rice paddies. Of Roman origin, Balzola has also maintains various proof of the eras that followed such as the old Castle, the Church of the Assumption, and the Church of San Michele.
