Belforte Monferrato (AL)
Just shy of five hundred residents live in this small town that offers all the characteristics that distinguish Alto Monferrato: wooded areas, plains, and hills where the rows of grape wines, which give such prized wines as Dolcetto (sweet, little wine), stand out. The town rises up on a buttress at the foot of the Cattaneo Castle, transformed into a patrician residency, and at the Church of San Benedetto, which was built around the year 1000 AD.
