Cities

Almese (TO)

Few people know it, but most people, in some way, are tied to this town in the lower Susa Valley. Here, in fact, Scipione Riva-Rocci –or rather the inventor of the sphygmomanometer, the tool used to measure arterial pressure - was born in 1863. Still today, the city is very open to research and technology. Located fewer than thirty kilometers from the Piedmont capital along the Messa River, it has always had a strategically important place in the communications between Turin and Canavese on one side and the lands of the Dora Riparia on the other.
