Barengo (NO)
On the streets of Barengo, you run into interesting testaments to its past, which give the town the feel of an ancient hamlet, as is also ancient - by millennia - the history of the wine it produces. In fact, Barengo is built at the foot of the hills where prized grapes, which breathe life into one of the most important wine traditions in Piedmont, are cultivated. On a hill that rises over the town, the scenic 15th century quadrangular castle with corner towers and arcades makes a fine show.
