Cities
Biandrate (NO)
Surrounded by rice paddies, as are many communities in the province of Novara, Biandrate has ancient origins and is located at a strategically important spot: on the “Via Biandrina”, a notably important route in the Middles Ages which connected the major towns in the province of Novara all the way to Valsesia in the north and Vercelli in the south. Regarding its artistic heritage, the 12th century Romanesque parish church of San Colombano, reconstructed in the 19th century, deserves a nod. Part of the atrium with its Romanesque flooring and also interesting frescos dating back to 1444 remain from the original construction.
