The town extends over a hilly area between Cortazzone and the Rilate and Versa Valleys. The town is dominated by an imposing castle, traces of which were already documented in the 12th century, and today is used as a unique rest and meeting place. The fort, with a trapezoid lay-out, is one of the few that still almost completely maintains its medieval look and is a great example of Piedmont architecture from that period. During the month of June, the historical siege of the castle, which took place in the Pelletta (a governing noble family) Era (the 14tth century), is reenacted with more than one hundred people dressed in costumes who act out the roles of the attacked and of the attackers.
