Roppolo (BI)
The history of the town of Roppolo is traced, with all probability, to the tenth century. The tower, around which the castle that dominates the town was later built, is from that era. Its architectural structure is particularly interesting. Built around the year 1000, it originally had a wooden tower with a granite block base like the ones you can still see in the cantinas. These same cantinas, once with exposed brick and stone walls, are today the seat of the Regional Serra Wine Cellar (Enoteca). On the shelves of the characteristically vaulted structure, the best wines from local producers are found. The Wine Cellar often hosts events tied to the theme of grapes and gastronomy.
