Cities
Trivero (BI)
It is one of the most populous towns in the area of Biella. Its land –mostly mountains – includes many hamlets rich in monuments and historical points if interest. Much loved by locals and visitors is the Parish Church of the San Quirico and San Giulitta, built on the foundation of a Roman church between the 15th and 16th century and then restructured. Inside, valuable frescos and sculptures are found. Among the frescos, the 18th century works attributed to Giovenone stand out; among the sculptures is the “Via Crucis” carved in wood by Antonio Sarpentiero in the 19th century. The absolute masterpiece of the place, in any case, carries the signature of the businessman Ermenegoldo Zenga who started off the transformation of Trivero into a true and proper oasis, ideal for family-oriented natural tourism. The Oasis Zenga, created by the Zenga Group after the death of their visionary, spreads out over an area of 100 square kilometers, among valleys and mountains, and is crossed by the “Panoramica Zenga” a road built to bring life to the mountain and to its people. Not only is it a realm of wild animals and rare botanical species, it is a true natural open-air laboratory, where it is possible to encounter traditions that are still alive such as playing sports, moving a herd from one pasture to another, working, and having fun.
