Cities

Santa Vittoria d'Alba (CN)

A view that spans from the Tanara Valley to the Lange to the alpine valleys; it is a panorama offered to those who climb the bastions and the towers of the Santa Victoria Castle. In the medieval town, one finds the Church della Confraternity di San Francesco where there is a 16th century fresco cycle depicting the Passion of the Christ. The heart of the town’s industrial and commercial activity is, instead, in the area of Camano, located along the Alba-Bra provincial road. There, one finds the industrial complex for the brand of vermouth that carries the same name, created in 1757, where the Camano glass collection, one if the most important collections of cups, glasses, and chalices made from glass in the world, is also located. The exhibit is set up inside large casks and the pieces are subdivided into four periods which cover 2,500 years of history: the Roman Era, the Venetian School, the Continental Production that followed, and English Masters.
