Bellinzago Novarese (NO)
It was here, in this town rich in historical building, that the architect Alessandro Antonelli spent the last months of his life, working on the plat of one section of the urban area. In the hills between Bellinzago and the Terdoppio River, the ancient Badia di Dulzago (Dulzago Abbey), built in the 12th century deserves a visit. It was planned as a true and proper residential complex where the church dedicated to San Giulio, the home of the abbey and the canons, the house of the farmers, and the cemetery are located. Today, the Abbey - surrounded by rice paddies, fields, and meadows - is the destination for many visitors who are able to find the feel and sense of the peace from that era and these religious places; those who want to learn about local folklore and attend the characteristic fagliolata during the month of January.
