Carema (TO)
With its peculiar isosceles triangle shape, its narrow lanes, the severe facades of its buildings, the stone arches, the Gothic arches, its characteristic “lobbie” - the typical Canavese balconies, and the stone roofs commonly called “lose”, Carema has all the charm of a medieval hamlet. The town is completely surrounded by vineyards planted on the terraces dug out from the rocky slopes of Monte Maletto, between 350 and 700 MSL. Characteristic stone columns support the pergolas, allowing the heat collected during the day to escape and offering the vines the best weather conditions for their cultivation. In these unique conditions, Nebbiolo di Carema DOC is born, recommended as an accompaniment to meat dishes or dried fruit and desserts - perhaps in front of the fireplace.
