Grugliasco (TO)

Situated just outside the city of Torino, this tranquil borough of Medieval origin, still divided into villages, has been defined as a “manageable”. The area holds numerous cultural events that appeal to a vast and varied public. The Perempruner theatre and the Parco Culturale Le Serre are appreciated cultural venues. While the theatre often hosts the prose season, exhibitions dedicated to arts and “non-classical” theatre take place in the Parco: from nouvelle circuses to puppet theatre. Situated in the Parco, the Villa Boriglione is the home of the Istituto per i Beni Marionettistici e il Teatro Popolare, which boasts one of the major Italian collections of marionettes and puppets in the number the specimens and their historical value. Another villa of remarkable interest, in this case of architectural value, is the Villa “Maggiordomo”. Indeed the building is attributed to Guarino Guarini.
