The first proof of the existence of this borough, with its site on the outskirts of the Moorish amphitheatre of the Canavese, dates back to the tenth century. In the older district of Maglione some of the aristocratic homes, such as the Palazzo Comunale and the canonic loggia, are a stunning sight in and of themselves. Since 1985 the town has been accommodated the M.a.c.a.m., the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea all’Aperto di Maglione. Frescoed and acrylic paintings, sculptures and installations gathered together outdoors on the walls of houses and in squares all add to the artistic sights of the place, symbolized by the beautiful parish church of S. Maurizio, a precious example of Baroque architecture. Another characteristic of this town is its highly developed agriculture, especially fruit produce.
