Novalesa (TO)
Its name and history are closely linked to the abbey dedicated to Saints Peter and Andrew, a splendid example of religious Romanesque art. Novalesa is a charming village made up of characteristic houses mainly of stone with typical roofs called "lose". Situated at the edge of the Val Cenischia on the so-called “Via Francigena” and surrounded by majestic waterfalls, it enjoys a crisp, fresh climate and, as always, it offers alternative cultural attractions to visitors. Since Medieval times Novalesa has been an important place for rest and vacation. The parish of Santo Stefano and the Museo Etnografico are interesting tourist attractions. The traditional activities of agriculture and ministry, coupled with a solid economy linked to helping travellers, gives tourists the opportunity to sample the area’s local products while immersed in its unique nature and tranquillity.
