Cossato (BI)
The town of Cossato has always been one of the most important of the area because of its strategic location. It is, in fact, linked with the Valsesia, the Piedmont and Lombard lakes and with the western area of Biella. Cossato owes much of its fame to its castle, in the village of Castellengo. The castle is perched on a small hill that overlooks the Cervo stream, and was most probably built at the end of the X century to protect the territories toward Biella and the eastern valleys.
