Monesiglio (CN)
This small town in the Langhe region owes its fame to the ancient medieval castle that dominates it. This stately complex was initially built for defence purposes; it was later expanded, becoming the residence of the Lords of Monesiglio, that is, the Caldera Counts and the Marquis of Saluzzo. The Armeria (Armoury) is of particular interest, together with the “Salone delle Feste” (Ballroom), the “Sala Rossa” (Red Room), the “Sala degli Stemmi” (Coat of Arms Room) and the chapel of the marquis, with sixteenth century frescoes made by Antonino Occello da Ceva in 1532
