Cannero Riviera (VB)
This town extends over the small delta plain of the Rio di Cannero (Cannero Stream). This town is an important tourist centre, and is especially frequented in the summer. The landscape, however, reaches its greatest splendour in spring, when camellias, azaleas and mimosas bloom. The Castelli di Cannero (Cannero Castles) lie on a few small islands and are reflected in Lago Maggiore (Lake Maggiore). They confer on the place a very special charm, an atmosphere caught between melancholy and romanticism.
