Tagliolo Monferrato (AL)

This village, which houses are packed in tightly around the wall of the ancient XIII century castle that overlooks it, retains the atmosphere and the character of times gone by. It is situated in the Alto Monferrato (Upper Monferrato) at the northern offshoots of the Ligurian Appenines. From an environmental point of view, this town is important for the wealth of fauna, which is demonstrated by the collection of the Museo Ornitologico: over nine hundred rare or even extinct stuffed local and Italian specimens are displayed here. Of particular value and interest are: the lammergeier, the osprey, the harrier, the golden eagle, the white kite, the little owl and the eagle owl.
