Situated on a high hill, surrounded by the Alps, stretching out on one side towards Monferrato and on the other side towards the Pianura Padana (the plains of the Po river), Albugnano enjoys a truly striking landscape. The history of this small town in the province of Asti is interwoven with that of the Vezzolano Abby. The monument, situated at the foot of the hill where Albugnano is built, is one of the most significant and precious testaments to Romanesque-Gothic art in Piedmont.
