Bubbio (AT)
At the end of the Bormida valley, which divides Monferrato from the Langas, the town of Bubbio spreads out. Its land has always produced prized wines and it is from this tradition that one could derive the town’s appellation. The adjective “bibulus”, according to popular belief, describes a people who drink their wines with great gusto. From an architectural and artistic point of view, Bubbio is known for its stone houses, which are reminiscent of mountain houses, and for the Church of the Assunta (Assumption), a Baroque structure with a lively curvilinear façade in terra cotta and stone and a richly decorated elliptical interior plan.
