Energy
This is the lightest chemical element that occupies the first position in the periodic table. Perhaps this is why Allen Ginsberg, guru of Beat Generation culture, used this word in his by now historical poetry collection, Hydrogen Jukebox. Now, in the third millennium there may no longer be many jukeboxes around, but hydrogen has been called on to play an important role in the future of our planet in an effort to save our lungs and lives. Hydrogen is today considered one of the most promising carriers of progress, playing a leading role in the development of sustainable energy.
In Piedmont several companies and research centres have been founded recently that were able to take advantage of the opportunity that hydrogen offers. There is the basic research being done at the excellent laboratories of the Turin Polytechnic University as well as the applied research at the Environment Park (Hysylab). There is work in market system integration with new firms being carried out by Pianeta and EPS. Besides, there is the direct planning and production of technology. This all this makes up a wide spectrum of activities and resources that can work to the benefit of specific market areas, ranging from the automotive industry to permanent energy applications.

"Torino is a somber and very refined city that knows how to combine the ancient splendor of Palazzo Madama with the modern rush of the Olympic sites. I would like to take foreigners out on a Torino bar hop or take them out on the Po in a canoe."
Giorgio Faletti
"Until I reached a certain age, I thought that people from Asti were called abstemious and so when anyone asked where I was from, I calmly answered: “Abstemious’."
