Ettore Fico. Opere dal 1935 al 2004
Colour that dazzles, geometry that interprets. Four years after his death, the Filatoio Rosso (Red Mill) of Caraglio is dedicating a complete retrospective exhibit dedicated to Ettore Fico, renowned exponent of 20th century Italian art, capable of matching moments of realism with his search for abstraction during his career.
Delleani e il suo tempo
During the centennial of Lorenzo Delleani’s death, Palazzo Bricherasio is dedicating an exhibit to this master from Biella that reconstructs his artistic production and the cultural context in which he worked as well as proposing other works by prominent painters belonging to the Piemonte scene of the times.

Places
Historical Wine Cellars in Canelli
The wine cellars – which hold ancient barrels perfectly lined-up – have brick arches, lowered large round arches connected to each other by tunnels that reach into the layers and strata of earth which have formed over the centuries.
Villa Scott
The little manor house, one of the most important examples of Torino Liberty architecture, is linked to the name of Dario Argento who set his film, “Profondo Rosso” (“Deep Red”) here – perhaps his most emotional film and the one with the strongest visual effects.
Abbazia di Novalesa
Near the monastery, there are four chapels dedicated to Saint Mary, Saint Salvador, Saint Michael, and the most important one to Saint Eldrado which has two splendid fresco cycles (from the late 11th century) narrating moments from the lives of Saint Eldrado and Saint Nicholas.

People
Gianni Farinetti
“There must be something in the water. It’s a strange phenomenon, the explosion that has taken place in the past fifteen years: there is a school of singer-songwriters from Genoa or a Roman school of painting, and then there are the writers from Torino… This is a good place to hide. Writing is observing, listening and then retreating into solitude. This is also a city of books, with a thousand bookstores and this exciting quantity of written words causes something.”
Patty Smith
"Torino is a distinct city, with a lot of character. It’s not like Firenze or other Italian cities that overwhelm you, where you’re overcome by tourists. It is a city that has a very precise personality, a style, a soul."
Benedetta Cibrario
“Torino is a city in which things simmer, working in secret. It’s filled with contrasts, often treated poorly, and it is very beautiful: this is a discovery made as an adult.”
