Ai monti! Ceramiche d'arte 1930-1950
The Museo della Montagna (Museum of the Mountain) in Torino is drawing again from its resources to promote a new interesting exhibition which can be visited until 26th October 2008. The title is “Ai monti! Ceramiche d'arte 1930-1950” (Go to the mountains! Art pottery 1930-1959), a showcase with rare or unobtainable artist pottery, many with alpine subjects, which have made “history” in the Italian house living rooms of the first half of the XX century.

Places
Historical Wine Cellars in Canelli
The wine cellars – which hold ancient barrels perfectly lined-up – have brick arches, lowered large round arches connected to each other by tunnels that reach into the layers and strata of earth which have formed over the centuries.
Castello di Mazzè
In the ancient underground parts of the medieval castle is the Museo della Tortura (Museum of Torture): tools and methods from the Holy Inquisition. The building is surrounded by a large park with a scenic view looking out over the Canavese.
Palaisozaki
It is the new Torino Olympic Palasport (Sports Arena) designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki for the Winter Olympics in Torino 2006. A multi-functional space, versatile and flexible which, thanks to the mobility of its platform, can turn from an ice rink into a concert, show, or convention venue.

People
Antonello Venditti
“Torino is a fist of good earth raised to the sky…it’s my second home. I found a special lady here who knows how to reward me with affection. This is why I will never forget the concert I gave at Palasport in 1980”.
Andrea Lee
“I married a man from Torino and we have started our family here. You fall in love with it gradually, it’s full of hidden, unknown things ready to be discovered, but filled with perversions as well. It has some very beautiful places…..”
Irene Grandi
“Torino is a fascinating place, filled with things to do, artistic and cultural movement…there’s always a show or a concert going on in some piazza. If only Florence was like this…”
