PiemonteFeel for the weekend

Choosing what to do on the weekend, when all the Piemonte provinces are chock-full of events, initiatives, and things to do, is certainly not easy. To help make that difficult decision, PiemonteFeel’s editing staff is bringing together, in this section, several ideas on how to best spend the weekend.

Places

Palazzo Callori a Vignale Monferrato

The building, erected during the 15th century, houses Monferrato’s Regional Wine Cellar (Enoteca). The ancient cellars in tuff are still used to store prized wines and grappas.

Filatoio Rosso di Caraglio

The Filatoio (Spinning Mill), built between 1676 and 1678, is an extraordinary example of 17th century Piemonte “industrial architecture”. Today, completely restored, it houses the Museo Regionale della Seta (Regional Silk Museum), as well as contemporary art shows.

Castello di Costigliole d’Asti

Surrounded by a large park, the castle houses an international cooking school and the annual “asta del Barbera” (“Barbera auction”) which has become a not-to-miss event for fans of quality wine.

People

Piero Chiambretti

Piero Chiambretti

"The free time I have, I spend in Torino. It’s the place where I grew as a human and professionally. My years of study and cabaret, those of fleeing and returning a winner, those of my haunts. Torino is my life."

Stefania Rocca

"My father used to work at Fiat. I never saw Torino as a limitation. It’s an elegant city. The fog has never caused me to be anxious or sad. My mother used to say that it helps us to look at ourselves inside."

Luciana Littizzetto

"I like living in Toino. It has a singular beat. The accent is an important source of inspiration: it’s slow, deliberate, not suited for funny moments, but if it’s natural and not affected, it works and makes you laugh."
