Torino Spettacoli 2007/08
Teatri Erba, Alfieri, and Gioiello
from 21.09.2007 to 31.05.2008
Torino Spettacoli, which has received the recognition of Teatro Stabile Privato di Pubblico Interesse (Permanent Private Theater for the Benefit of the Public) from the Ministero per i Beni e le Attivita Culturali (Ministry of Culture) for the last 12 years, boasts 50 years of theatrical tradition. Its program spans from great drama to vernacular theater and is organized into six different reviews hosted in three of the city’s historical theaters: the Teatro Erba, the Teatro Alfieri, and the Teatro Gioiello. “Eventi d’Autunno” (“Autumn Events) is dedicated to interdisciplinary and comic theater, “Piemonte in Scena” (“Piemonte on Stage”) promotes the theater that exists in the region, and the “Festival di cultura classica” (“Festival of Classic Culture”) stages the great Greek and Roman masterpieces. The “Grande Prosa” (“Great Drama”) review, instead, deserves the credit of having brought the most important genre texts to the stage, interpreted by actors such as Adriana Innocenti, Piero Nuti, Paolo Villaggio, and many others. The best national productions from brilliant comedy to the proof of an actor to musicals find a spot in the “Fiore all’occhiello” (“Flower in the Lapel”) program, while a colorful homage paid to the last show by Gino Bramieri, “Riuscire a farvi ridere” (“To Be Able to Make You laugh”), is the essence of amusing review, “Per Farvi Ridere” (“In Order To Make You Laugh”).
