Piccolo Regio
from 09.11.2007 to 09.05.2008
The Piccolo Regio Laboratorio is a place of culture with its own particular artistic nature. It combines a vocation for experimentation with a strong tradition of theatre, agility in management with an interdisciplinary character, comparison and synthesis between the various disciplines with coordination with the institutions and territorial organisations, always remaining true to its contemporaneity. Confirming the commitment and attention dedicated in recent years to families, for the 2007 – 2008 season the Teatro Regio will promote shows and activities that get parents and children involved together, in an increasingly close relationship with “La Scuola all’Opera” (School at the Opera). The rich calendar includes dance, theatre and music, with important contemporary shows and artists. Highlights include the cine-concert “Requiem for a Dying Planet” taken from the music composed by Ernst Reijseger for the films “The White Diamond”, and “The Wild Blue Yonder” by the German director and stage designer Werner Herzog, the concert-show “Dinderling Dind Ding” conceived by Turinese composer Sergio Liberovici in 1985, in partnership with Francesco Casorati who wrote the sketches and scenes, and “Anna”, a new staging produced in partnership with La Scuola all’Opera, freely inspired by Anna Frank’s “Diary”. The season draws to a close on 9 May with “Cenerentola, ovvero Angelina e la magia del cuore” (Cinderella, or Angelina and the magic of the heart), another new staging by the Teatro Regio inspired by Gioachino Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” (Cinderella) and produced in partnership with the Associazione Baretti (Baretti Association) directed by Davide Livermore.
