Contemporary Piemonte theater, theater with a national view and wide view over European reality, the relationship of theater to language of movies, and dance concerts – the 2007/2008 season at the Fondazione Teatro Piemonte Europa is presenting a multitude of defining events which makes it among the most significant to-go spots in the region’s cultural season calendar. Organized into six sections, “Progetto Rettilario” (“Reptile House Project”) digs its roots into the multiform soil of the performance arts. The relationship between theater and movies is dealt with in the “Effetto Cinema” (“Cinema Effect”) a section created in collaboration with the Museo Nazionale del Cinema (National Museum of Cinema). The most interesting contemporary productions in the dramatic arts are contained in “Tempi Moderni” (“Modern Times”); “Teatro Europeo” (“European Theater”) offers, once again, shows from the Festival del Teatro Europeo as well as the absolute premier of Jean Claude Penchenat’s “Bar franco italien” (“The French-Italian Bar”). “Satyricon” is the section dedicated to comical theater. The role of dance within the program is particularly important and is at an international level with “Palcoscenico Danza” (“Dance Stage”) created in collaboration with Torino Danza and overseen by the Centro Coreografico Projetto Rettilario/ Balletto dell’Esperia (Reptile House Project Choreography Center/ Esperia Ballet) under the artistic direction of Paolo Mohovich. Besides this, the season is offering two Special Projects with shows and debates on the theme of adolescence overseen by the Piccolo Teatro d’Arte (Little Art Theater), as well as the new work from the Ciau Bale Company.
