Il Salotto di Mao

Born as a Sunday night appointment at “Caffè Procope” in Torino from an unusual talk-show experiment in 1997, “Il Salotto di Mao” has hosted several artists on its couch, from Luciana Littizzetto to Madaski, from Giancarlo of Murazzi to Paola Maugeri, and many others. This new edition wants to be a sort of “post-show” with a stage where every week different guests and situations meet and clash through interviews, music, short films and much more. Together with his guests, Mao – the “host” – tries to analyze music (but also other arts) as a universe of habits and customs, myths and legends, capable of identifying the main protagonists not only in the natural stars of this world, but also in all the people surrounding them: roadies, groupies, tour managers, mascots, PRs, door selectors, journalists, photographers, etc. who reveal anecdotes, myths and legends taking place in a dressing room or under a console, on a tour bus as well as in a hotel room…or, why not, in a weird salon!
The title of this summer season’s inaugural appointment on Tuesday May 20, 2008 is “ I grandi amori non si baciano subito”. Based upon this theme are the music contest “La Base05 4 tracks” and CMYK painting contest. Guests for the evening are Paolo Parpaglione, artist Felipe Aguila and many groups.
