The Great Markets in Cherasco
Historical Center

From antique furniture to historical postcards, from artistic ceramics to vintage accessories, from period cars to antique books, from records to toys. The Cherasco markets are all of this and even much more. The three annual editions of the Grande Mercato dell’Antiquariato e del Collezionismo (The Great Market of Antiques and Collecting) have now surpassed their 70th edition and beckon all fans from every Italian region and from nearby France and Switzerland. The next up-coming dates with quality antiques and the most sought after articles in collecting are slated for the 16th of March (71st edition), the 14th of September (72nd edition), and the 7th of December (73rd edition). On the 4th of May, instead, the city becomes the hub for antique furniture dealers (8th Mercato del Mobile Antico – Antique Furniture Market) and vintage articles (7th Mercato del Grande Vintage). The 10th edition of the Mercato della Ceramica e del Vetro (Ceramic and Glass Market) is scheduled for Sunday, the 8th of June. At the same time, the 2nd edition of “Le macchine del tempo” (“Time Pieces”), a consumer fair dedicated to period watches and collecting, and the 6th Mercato Auto, Cicli e Motocicli d’Epoca, ricambi ed Accessori (Period Cars, Cycles and Motorcycles, Replacement Parts and Accessories) will also take place. On Sunday, the 6th of July, Cherasco will make room for the 14th edition of the Mercato del Libro Antico e della Carta (Paper and Antique Book Market), the 4th Mercato della Musica e della Discografia d’epoca (Period Music and Record Market), and the 3rd Mercato della Filatelia (Stamp Collecting Market). Art and games will invade the historical center on the 12th of October with both the 7th Mostra-Mercato della Pittura, della Scultura e della Produzione Artistico e Artiginale (Consumer-Market of Painting, Sculpture, and Arts and Crafts) and the 14th edition of the Mercato del Giocattolo e del Modellismo d’Occasione (Second-hand Games and Model Fair). And finally, the characteristic Mercato dei Prodotti Alimentari Biologici e Naturali di alta qualita (High-quality Organic and Natural Products Market) and the Mercato di Cioccolato d’Autore (Artisan Chocolate Market) will both take place on the 9th of November. For all the markets, the city is organizing art exhibits in historical buildings and churches.
