Soaking in fresh “drops” of art, to find out the most precious treasures in Piemonte and the Italian territory. This is the goal of the initiative Elisir Gocce d’Arte in Italia (Art drop elixir in Italy), promoted by Museo Accorsi (Accorsi Museum) in collaboration with the main Piemonte’s and other Italian regional bodies. The itineraries are organized around specific themes and in some cases they are accompanied by interesting scientific conferences. During the months of May and June, Elisir guides the public to the discovery of two of Piemonte’s precious historic residences. The first itinerary (8th and 17th May) leads to the Neoclassical Villa Cimena in Castagneto Po (Torino). The villa, once owned by the Thaon di Revel Earls, is embellished by its ancient park, created by gardener and landscape painter Marcellino Roda (1814-1892). During the visit, particular attention will be paid to the friendship between antiquarian Pietro Accorsi (Torino, 1891-1982) and the present owner of the villa. The second itinerary (7th and 12th of June) consists in a guided tour of the historical city of Saluzzo, including a visit to the Palace of the Del Carretto Marquises. The residence, built between the 16th and the 17th century, enlarged and embellished a century later, gathers a vast heritage, witnessing past ways of living and dwelling. Other initiatives are scheduled, such as: "From East to West. The cult and production of rice: images, faces and places" (September), "Sacred and profane goldsmith’s art. Precious metals at Museo Accorsi and Museo Diocesiano di Arte Sacra" (Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art) in Susa (October) and "House throughout centuries. From Renaissance to the XX century" (November). All the itineraries take place twice a month (one Thursday and one Saturday). Reservation at 011.8376883 is compulsory.
