Short films such as “Un chant d’amour” by Jean Genet, “Le dernier mot” by Jean-Luc Godard, “Le Mystère Picasso” and “Retour à la vie” by Henri-Georges Clouzot, “Two Men and a Wardrobe” and “The Mammals” by Roman Polanski, “Du côté de la côte” by Agnès Varda and all the short films by the greatest Italian filmmakers, all of them could be part of a theoretical video library named “La meglio gioventù 1946-1959” (The best youth 1946-1959) and represent a valuable heritage for the whole history of cinema. This is the reason for the festival entitled “Corti d’autore”(Auteur short films) proposed by Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio (Short Film National Centre) and promoted by Aiace and Museo Nazionale del Cinema. A long and exhaustive schedule with monthly appointments to pay tribute to yesterday’s and today’s directors and their short masterpieces.
