Torino

Various locations: Sala Bolaffi, Circolo dei Lettori, Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani, Cinema Massimo, King Kong Microplex

from 10.04.2008 to 28.05.2008

The initiative, overseen by the Regione Piemonte in collaboration with the Circolo dei Lettori (Readers’ Circle) and the Museo Nazionale del Cinema (National Museum of Cinema), is offering a selection of moments to remember 1968. “L’arte per strada. I manifesti del Maggio francese” (“Art for the Streets. The Posters of French May”; April 10 - May 6 at Sala Bolaffi) offers an exhibit of the posters which, during the first few days of French May, made the city walls “speak” of politics with a new language. “Le parole del ’68. I giorni dell’utopia” (“The Words of ’68. The Days of Utopia”; May at Circolo dei Lettori) reconstructs the atmosphere of ’68 by offering readings, encounters, musical and theatrical performances, a fashion show, and an exhibit of Torino political posters for each hot-button word from that revolutionary year. “Le joli mai – immagini del Maggio francese” (“The Beautiful May – Images of French May”; May 15-18; Cinema Massimo-Museo Nazionale del Cinema) is a cinema review dedicated to the ‘68 in France, created in collaboration with the Centre Culturel Francais de Turin (French Cultural Center of Torino). “Incontri e documentari” (“Encounters and Documentaries”; May 21-28; King Kong Microplex) centers around the theme of ‘68’. “Sara una bella societa” (“It Will Be a Wonderful Society”; May 27 and 28; Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani) is a theatrical work with music and text by Edmondo Bersele, where the singer from the Rokes, Shel Shapiro, talks about the dreams of ’68 and the true story of his generation in monologues and song.
