Form Follows... Risk
Castello di Rivara
from 12.04.2008 to 03.07.2008
"Form follows ... risk" explores new and stimulating lines of enquiry in contemporary sculpture, architecture and design in the artistically highly contaminated and hybrid context that is the former Czechoslovakia. This new complexity spurs artists, on the one hand, to insert materials and media into their work, such as photos and film, that react against each other simultaneously while, on the other hand, leading them to include, paradoxically, diverse elements within a single system, namely, the final work that is, by its nature, a closed form. Curated by Jiří Ševčík of the National Gallery of Contemporary Art, Bratislava, the exhibition was first staged at the 2007 Prague Biennial.
