The show presents the multifaceted artistic work of Duilio Cambellotti, weaving between painting and drawing, architecture and set design, sculpture and applied arts.
Echoing Morris's Arts and Crafts theories, his work, especially in ceramics, is characterised by his craft approach to production and an iconographic range which, stemming from the popular tradition and attention to the material culture of his region, was updated with original sculptural or decorative elements.
A prominent figure in the decorative arts of the first half of the 20th century, Duilio Cambellotti anticipated original solutions for the renewal of expression and language in the period between the two wars.
