Beginning with a tasty preview and “focus” on Piemonte wines (from the 25th to the 27th of April), Vinum is an exceptional showcase of the entire Italian and world wine scene, not to mention a lovely way to better get to know and experience the area of Alba and the splendid hills surrounding it. Besides the selection of the best wines on the market, the event offers important wine tasting of main and well known Italian native wines, culinary experiences with stellar chefs from Piemonte (Il Festival della Cucina), and tours of the Wine Cellars in Alba, open just for the Vinum wine tourists (Le Cantine Aperte di Vinum). The 2008 edition is also offering a stage entirely dedicated to historical vintages from the leading producers from the world of Barolo and Barbaresco (I Marchi Storici a Teatro – The Historical Labels on Stage) as well as an exclusive tasting and promotional event dedicated to Dolcetto, in its various appellations, at the Teatro Sociale in Alba (Dolcetto, il Vino della Sacralita Quotidiano – Dolcetto, the Wine of Everyday Sacredness). Finally, there are many initiatives being promoted by the Enoteche Regionale (Regional Wine Cellars).
