Festival del Riso

This great gastronomic event is accompanying the usual Vercelli Maratona del Riso (Rice Marathon). During the six days of the Festival del Riso, the prince of local products, known throughout the world, will be handed out, sold, and cooked following typical recipes not only from Vercelli, but from the other Italian regions as well as foreign spots present at the event. Therefore, alongside the classic Vercelli “panissa” (a bean and salami risotto), it will not be difficult to taste a good Milanese dish or a dish from the Isola della Scala (in the Verona area), arancini (rice balls) prepared as they should be, or a tasty paella. The Festival is also dedicating a convention to eating rice and to the importance of rice, created in collaboration with the Universita di Scienze Gastronomiche in Pollenzo. Among the initiatives running alongside the main event is the Elvis Presley fan club and tribute concert as well as performances by local and national groups.
