Vivaldimania. Una storia torinese

Torino

Historic halls of Palazzo Bricherasio

from 23.04.2008 to 08.06.2008

Musical creations and manuscripts of the renowned Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi invade the historic halls of Palazzo Bricherasio, unleashing a kind of “Vivaldimania” in Torino style. The 27 volumes on exhibit containing approximately 450 compositions come from the Mauro Foà e Renzo Giordano collection of the Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria di Torino. Relatively unknown objects of research and studies by musicologists from all over the world are on display. They are accessible to the public, who finally has an opportunity to approach Vivaldi’s method of organising his works. Computerized stations allow the public to listen to the music composed in the volumes on display and a virtual “leafing through” the pages. Portraits of the composer and other people close to him, reproductions of documents and places complete the prospect of the exhibition.
