Oyoyoy! 2008 proposes more than 70 appointments with over 150 characters. The festival which finds its focus at Casale Monferrato – a founding city rich in Jewish history and architecture – involves five provinces of Piemonte including nearby cities like Alessandria, Asti, Vercelli, Trino, Moncalvo, Valenza and, for the first time Il Santuario di Crea and Conzano. Oyoyoy extends as far as Cherasco, Carmagnola, Chieri and Torino in the occasion of the Fiera del Libro (Book Fair). While the Jewish ghetto from Casale Monferrato is filled with sheep (pretend) by Menashe Kadishman, one of today’s most renowned contemporary artists, Castello Paleologo hosts “Container Art”, an itinerant art exhibit featuring Israeli contemporary artists, and “Urlo Bepop e Kadish di Allen Ginsberg”, presented with photographs by Luciano Bobba.
