La Venaria Reale: invitation to Court

The Venaria Reale complex presents a calendar rich in events and novelties. The lead off was the inauguration of the Fontana del Cervo in the official courtyard with the first edition of the Armida-Peota d’Oro trophy in the Pescheria Grande. After that, the opening of a new tour of the Reggia based on the same themes of Sabauda and European life at court found in the inaugural exhibition. The exposition of 20 pieces of clothing belonging to the queens of Italy in the Galleria Grande (called “di Diana”) of the Reggia and the completion of the “Giardino delle Sculture Fluide” in the Parco basso dei Giardini with the inauguration of new works of contemporary art by Maestro Giuseppe Penone. All this plus concerts, theatre performances, activities and thematic walks for kids.
Gold of Italian design
The imposing areas of the “Juvarriana” Scuderia Grande (Grand Stables) of the Reggia, open for the first time to the public, are hosting the best production of Italian design from post-war until today: over 400 pieces belonging to the prestigious Compasso d’Oro (Golden Compass) collection.
The Giardino delle Sculture Fluide of Giuseppe Penone
The works are placed in the Garden as if they were in the rooms of a museum, imagining the precise intervals between one piece and another. These works of art are positioned along aisles of birch and linden trees as if they were exhibit salons, with architecture of Castellamonte as backdrop.
Venaria Real Festival
The Festival, from June 21 to September 7th, is hosted in an area of the Reggia Gardens and this edition proposes an impressive calendar of events including concerts and the presence of internationally acclaimed artists.

Concerts, shows, entertainment for families, adults and children in the Gardens of the Reggia (admission fee to these events is included in the entrance fee to the Gardens)
Teatro a Corte
A theatre festival dedicated to speech but to other forms of expression as well: mime, marionettes, dance, visuals, lighting, music, video, water, clown therapy, nouveau cirque, plastic arts.
Estate ragazzi a corte
Old-fashioned amusement at court is revisited: “Play” in its many variations is the theme of the activities and paths offered to kids. Through September 12, 2008.
