41ª Festa del Piemont

The land of fine wine, truffles and the castles of southern Piemonte in the towns of Alba, Bra, Castino, Cherasco and Cuneo proposes an event dedicated to illustrating the value of the literature, poetry, music and prose of a language which once was that of the State, the People and the Nobility. Debates on Piemonte’s language and culture, theatrical performances, concerts of traditional music animate this edition’s event, which will reach its climax during the last weekend of May at Cherasco. It is here that a world meeting of the Wikipedia of regional languages will be held and on Sunday June 1st the parade of the Gran Drapò arriving from Biella, as well as concerts by folk groups from all over the Piemonte region, conclude the celebrations. On June 1st Cherasco’s old town centre will liven up with booths of Eccelenza Artigiana Piemontese quality handcrafts (from ceramic to wood, musical instruments to glassworks), with the first Festa dël Piemont validated stamp issues for collectors and with books from the principal regional publishers.
