Churches, theatres, piazzas and arenas are opening to welcome those who wish to approach the world of music, meet artists, discover the mysterious appeal of places and “backstage” by way of the events of the Alba Music Festival. Here is a chance to be immersed in an important international event involving several castles of Langhe e Roero for the first time during this “Spring Edition” (until June 2nd). The exhibit continues with “Musica nei Castelli” (Music in the Castles) every Sunday in June. During the “Summer Edition” of the festival, the second edition of the “Suoni dalle Colline di Langhe e Roero”(Sounds from the hills of Langhe e Roero) is scheduled from July 18 to August 3rd. Other exhibits and manifestations enrich the programme even more. The “Les Violons du Roi” exhibition deserves special mention. The “Charles IX”, a violin built Andrea Amati the father of violin-making from Cremona is among the instruments to be admired. This violin is still in use and was built in 1556 under commission for the court of Charles IX of France.
