The highlight of this event will be the historic re-enactment of the oath of allegiance to the Bishop of Ivrea and to the Lord of Pavone that the Consul and the 208 Men from Pavone took in 1327. Following that oath, the Bishop granted the Community the Statutes that certified the beginning of this council of Free Men. Here we can find musicians, street artists, jugglers, people dressed up in precious period costumes from North-Western Italy, taverns and banquets offering traditional food and wine, classical and Celtic music concerts and workshops for the Scottish bagpipes. The two tournaments taking place during the event are worth a mention, especially since they have become internationally renowned: the XI Torneo Nazionale di Duello Storico (National Tournament of Historic Duelling), where knights dressed in precious period costumes will take part in Medieval jousts and will bring the magical atmosphere of ancient combat back to the hamlet of Pavone; and the “Furor et Ferrum” V Torneo Internazionale di duello Storico (International Tournament of Historic Duelling), where battle re-enactment societies and Italian and European academies will take part in the noble art of the duel.
