Since 1996, the Festival delle Colline Torinese (Festival of the Turin Hills) has bet on “contemporary creation” and on a not-terribly-conventional program of events, but one always more applauded by the public. By establishing a dialogue with the artists and the reality of the production, which do their utmost with originality to renew and refresh a live show, the kermises represents a tasty occasion for reflection on the complexity of modern European playwriting. The plurality of styles and places of origin, of horizontal cultures and viewpoints which distinguish the twenty-six shows in the program – creations from just as many companies coming from six different nations – guide the audience on the discovery of a multicolored world of performance, with a particular interest for cross-pollination among genres (theater, dance, visual arts, and sculpture).
