After two years of a prestigious international tour (from Torino 2006 to Canton, Seoul, Ningbo, Kyoto, Hanoi, Belo Horizonte, Santiago in Chile) the show returns to Torino.
The exhibition documents the excellence of design ‘made in Piemonte' through more than 200 industrial products designed and/or produced in Piemonte by over 150 designers and 170 companies (including Adriano Design, Alessi, Aurora, Bialetti, Ferrino, Giugiaro Design, Pininfarina Extra, Sabelt, Sambonet, Seven, Sparco, Venchi).
The products are organised in sections that, with brief introductory histories, tackle different themes: from locally-rooted design and production values (sports equipment, taps and household goods, ballpoint pens) to new design trends (food design, design for all), specific case studies and the potential of innovation and creating an economic system through design.
For the occasion, the show has been updated and enriched by the new section "Great stories of small products". These stories, renowned and less well known, born in a milieu with a strong design and industrial tradition, are recounted through physical products and design and communication materials often held in archives (patents, advertising campaigns, images of the endorsers).
The exhibition is directed by Giorgio De Ferrari and curated by Claudio Germak and Claudia De Giorgi.
