The exhibition documents how design can be a tool for discovering and raising the quality of the traditions, skills and communal activity of those engaged in the artistic handicrafts typical of Piemonte. It also prompts thought about handicrafts with long historical traditions which have handed down to us inspiring artefacts which can be models for future re-interpretations.
Among the developments of this sort documented are: the new furniture lines from the Varaita Valley, the re-designing of Mondovì pottery, the proposals made by the Lanzo Valleys artisans, Bab Anmil's fusion of design ideas drawn from Torino and Marrakech, the Castellamonte ovens, Piemonte's "New Chocolate".
The exhibition is curated by Claudio Germak and Claudia De Giorgi.
